Gov. David Ige has received a list of nominees from the Judicial Selection Commission for the vacancies created by the retirement of former Big Island circuitjudges Glenn S. Hara and Ronald Ibarra.
The commission submitted the list of nominees to the governor today.
The nominees to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of retired Hilo Circuit Judge Glenn S. Hara are:
• Hilo District Judge Harry P. Freitas
• Jeffrey A. Hawk, private practice attorney
• Hilo Family Court Judge Henry T. Nakamoto
• Deputy Public Defender Jeffrey W.S. Ng
The nominees to fill the vacancy left by the retirement retired Kona Circuit Judge Ronald Ibarra are:
•Gregory A. Ferren, private practice attorney
• Robert D.S. Kim, private practice attorney
• Michael H. Schlueter, private practice attorney
• Deputy Prosecutor Kimberly B.M. Taniyama
Gov. Ige will interview each nominee and has until Aug. 30 to make his appointments.
